Evelyn Joyner Ball

Evelyn Joyner Ball, 84, passed away March 9, 2011 at Spanish Oaks Hospice surrounded by her niece, Gerri Jenkins and great niece, Terri Krygier. She was the widow of George G. Ball, her beloved husband and best friend of 32 years. She was born in Savannah, daughter of the late Tillman W. and Madge Beard Joyner. She was a graduate of Commercial High School. She then went to work for Trust Company Bank now SunTrust Bank and retired after thirty plus years. She was a longtime member of Robert McIntire United Methodist Church and upon the closing of the church, transferred to Whitefield United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Arnsdorff and brothers, Tillman W., Ernest and B.F. Joyner.
She is survived by her niece, Gerri who has taken care of her for the last 13 years due to Alzheimer's. In addition to her niece, she is survived by four nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Evelyn was blessed to also have several great, great nieces and nephews who she loved with all her heart and took great pleasure playing and being with them.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2011 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors conducted by Rev. Dr. Grover Bell.
Pallbearers will be her nephews and great nephews, Gary Jenkins, Raymond Jenkins, Christopher Krygier, Michael Krygier, Richard Joyner and Donald Joyner.
Burial: Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
